"it's a smile, it's a kiss, it's a sip of wine....it's sumertime!-Kenny Chesney, all he needed to add was it's a time to start a quilt! Everything seems fresher and brighter this summer, inviting us to linger, enjoy and savor after a long cold winter. Have you noticed that the quilt world is full of patterns reflecting the delights of summer. Fabrics with bright colors and designs mirror the summer activities, rv fabric, picnic tables, bright flowers and a few dinosaurs makes us smile and happy to put
together your cheerful quilt!
A quilter can bond with fellow quilters with our sit n sews! It's fun to share experiences, discuss tales of your crazy projects and favorite techniques...but seriously, quilting in groups can be AWESOME for your self-esteem and weekly social needs. What could be better than gathering together with people who also understand and love one of your favorite activities. We'd love to see you on a Mon., Wed or Thurs., so JOIN UP this summer!
What else is on your summer itinerary? Another way to start off your summer is attend the Southern Indiana Shop Hop (June 20 - 23) and visit 9 shops to see what's new and available. Take an adventurous road trip, or find a quiet spot to read a good book, or picnic with family and friends, enjoy every minute. Then recreate it in a quilt to enjoy for summers to come.

Pick a date to start your Shop Hop - June 20 - 23, nine (9) shops participating. The books are now available for $5.00. Blocks cut and ready to sell on JUNE 20th for $5.00, which includes a pattern & fabric for one square. Participating stores: The Village Mercantile, Boonville; Scrappy Patches, Brownstown (that's us!); Quilters Corner Cottage, Charlestown; The Quilting Bee, Edwardsville; Let's Sew, Evansville (different time zone); L & L Yard Goods & Margie's Country Store,both Madison;Sharynn's Quilt Box, N. Vernon; The Stitching Post, Washington.
Sit n Sew
Join us on Mondays, Wed. & Thur. for sit n sew from 9 am - 5pm. Bring your sewing machine, projects, and sewing needs to sew and chat the day away! Do you have a project you are stuck on ?, bring it in let us help you - first time to visit
is free. Other days available, just make arrangements with store owner, Barb.
Need ideas to work on, check out our CATS and DINOS!
 
BLOCK OF MONTH
Painter's Garden gives you the choice of making pieced or applique squares or half and half.
I have some blocks made up in the store if you would like to see the squares made up.
First month is $50.00 and $19.45. The next 8 months will will $19.45. Each month
will have two blocks of the same pattern to make. May sign up now! If you would like extra help,
NEXT sit n sew - May 15. This sit-n-sew is for Painter's Garden only..
Patchwork Club
Next club meeting will be July 28th. No meeting in June.
